The Municipality of Groningen is once again offering overnight shelter at the Hanzeplaza convention center for asylum seekers who cannot be accommodated in Ter Apel. The municipality is prepared to extend this shelter by approximately one week, provided a long-term solution is found. More information regarding this may become available on Wednesday, the municipality reports.
More than 120 asylum seekers stayed on the grass at the registration centre in Ter Apel on Tuesday. Groningen is offering shelter for one extra night, but during the day some have already been lying outside for six days. Basel (34) from Gaza: "I don't tell my wife anything."
