Holgado and Mir to Join Gresini in MotoGP From 2027
On Thursday, Gresini Racing announced that former world champion Joan Mir and 21-year-old Daniel Holgado will join the team for the 2027 MotoGP season.
Mir, the 2020 MotoGP champion, is departing Honda to revitalize his career with the Ducati-backed team as it revamps its rider lineup.
Holgado, a 21-year-old rising talent, enters MotoGP after securing two victories and finishing sixth in the 2025 Moto2 championship with CFMOTO Aspar Team.
Team owner Nadia Padovani welcomed both riders, saying, "Dani is a profile we have been following for a long time and we are pleased."
Mir will pilot a factory-spec Ducati Desmosedici aiming to "rediscover his best sensations," while Alex Marquez moves to KTM and Fermin Aldeguer joins VR46 Ducati.
It's done, Joan Mir and Daniel Holgado will be playing Gresini Racing from the 2027 season. The Italian team has come to formalize the arrival of the 2020 World Champion and the young Spaniard.
