Greenland to get new government as parties agree on coalition

In Greenland, a new government was formed two weeks after the election. The government coalition included the Democratic Party and three other political forces.

The party leaders of the Danish autonomous territory of Greenland, which is a target of US President Donald Trump, have agreed on a broad-based four-party government.

Donald Trump repeatedly expresses his interest in the world's largest island. The pressure of the US President on Greenland seems to increase every day. After the election about two weeks ago, there is now at least a political stand against it. However, Trump's vice-president has landed in Greenland.

A new broad coalition government has been formed in Greenland. In the negotiations, the parties abandoned their usual brand issues because they wanted to show that they can stand together against Trump.

Political leaders in Greenland, the self-governing Danish territory coveted by President Donald Trump, have agreed to form a broad four-party government "to face the heavy pressure" from the United States, the new prime minister said on Friday.

Greenland: Electoral winner Jens-Frederik Jensen and the Democrat will lead a broad alliance of four out of five parties in parliament.
