Greater Noida bus fire: FIR alleges driver ignored burning smell, refused to stop before blaze
Passengers had warned the crew about a burning smell before the fire spread through the packed sleeper bus, leaving nine dead and several injured, police said.

- Survivor Suneel Kumar recounted waking to the fire and scrambling out, leaving all belongings behind as thick smoke filled the packed bus and passengers stampeded toward exits.
- Prime Minister Narendra Modi announced financial aid of 2 lakh for families of the deceased and 50,000 for injured passengers, while police detained the driver and conductor.
- Authorities continue investigating the fire's cause as the FIR alleges the crew's "deliberate, gross negligence, rashness and reckless disregard" for passenger safety resulted in the deaths.
