Granola designed for breastfeeding moms recalled over Salmonella fears
Hampton Grocers said no illnesses have been reported and told buyers to discard the pink, eight-ounce pouches and seek refunds.
- Hampton Grocers recalled Lacnola Lactation Granola on Friday after discovering potential Salmonella contamination in an ingredient. The product was sold nationwide on the company website and Amazon between October 21, 2025, and August 12, 2026.
- Organic moringa powder, an ingredient in the granola, tested positive for Salmonella, according to a supplier who reported the contamination to the company. The Food and Drug Administration confirmed the ingredient connection in its announcement.
- All recalled packages are pink, eight-ounce stand-up pouches with two affected lots: Lot HGLC-102125 expiring October 21, 2026, and Lot HGLC-021326 expiring February 13, 2027. Hampton Grocers reported no illnesses connected to the product.
- Consumers who purchased the granola should discard packages and contact the retailer for a full refund. Salmonella exposure typically causes fever, diarrhea, or abdominal pain within six hours to six days after eating contaminated food.
- Hampton Grocers has suspended production of the granola while the company and the Food and Drug Administration investigate the contamination source. The investigation aims to determine where the Salmonella entered the supply chain.
