Grand County Search and Rescue responds to assist injured person at High Lonesome Hut

Grand County Search and Rescue responded to a reported slip-and-fall incident at the High Lonesome Hut in Arapaho National Forest around 5 a.m. on Sunday, Feb. 22. An individual at the hut sustained significant injuries after slipping.  Due to the remote backcountry location and winter conditions, a coordinated response was initiated to assess, stabilize and safely evacuate the patient, according to a news release about the incident.
