Scottish Government Unveils Gaelic Language Funding Package

The Scottish Government has pledged £620,000 of funding to promote the growth of Scottish Gaelic. The promise comes from Kate Forbes, Deputy First Minister of Scotland, at the start of World Gaelic Week. The funding includes £200,000 for MG Alba, a new media service for the language, including a second series of the crime drama An t-Eilean (The Island), which has "proved that there is an international demand for high quality Gaelic content".
