Google Squeezed Pac-Man Into a Halloween Doodle. Dare You to Play It

Google’s Halloween-themed PAC-MAN Doodle features eight haunted house levels and celebrates the game’s 45th anniversary with classic gameplay and spooky visuals.

  • On Oct. 30, Google placed a fully playable Halloween-themed PAC-MAN game on google.com, available only today and tomorrow, Oct. 31.
  • This year, to mark PAC-MAN's 45th anniversary, Google released the Halloween-themed Doodle to align with Halloween arriving tomorrow.
  • According to Google, the Halloween variant features eight levels with four haunted-house mazes, preserving classic PAC-MAN mechanics and including the four ghosts Blinky, Inky, Pinky and Clyde with "Power Pellet" gameplay.
  • Because the Doodle runs briefly, users who use the browser address bar might miss it on google.com, so Google says to try it now before it disappears after Oct. 31.
  • Google partnered with Bandi Namco Entertainment, PAC-MAN's parent company, and used retro visuals and lack of 4K pixels to evoke an authentic arcade aesthetic.
