Google's Nano Banana Pro Makes Ultrarealistic AI Images. It Scares the Hell Out of Me

Nano Banana Pro supports 14 image inputs, up to 4K resolution, and maintains subject resemblance across edits, aiming for factual and multilingual AI-generated images.

  • On Thursday, Nov. 20, Google launched Nano Banana Pro, also called Gemini 3 Pro Image, available through the Gemini app.
  • Built on Gemini 3 Pro, announced Tuesday, Nov. 18, the upgrade supports complex, nuanced image generation, with Google suggesting uses for explainers, infographics, diagrams, and blueprints.
  • Users can blend up to 14 input images with Nano Banana Pro, preserving likeness for up to five subjects and generating images at 2K and 4K resolution options.
  • The feature is available in the United States via Google Search's AI Mode for Google AI Pro and Ultra subscribers, paid NotebookLM subscribers also get access, and Alphabet Inc. stock rose 4% then 3% on Friday.
  • Google will also bring the tools to Flow, Google's AI-filmmaking tool, and warns the tool can struggle with small text and may require follow-up prompts for accuracy.
