Remember the Original Yellow-Painted Hummer H2? Well, GMC's Hummer EV Honors the 25th Anniversary
The limited-edition SUV and pickup add heritage trim, 1,000 horsepower and Tesla Supercharger compatibility, with pricing still to be announced.
On Wednesday, July 15, GMC debuted the 2027 Hummer EV Icon 25 at the ESPY awards in New York City, featuring a distinctive yellow exterior paint named 'Icon' to honor the brand's legacy.
Celebrating the Hummer nameplate's 25th anniversary, the special edition evokes the original H2 launched at the 2002 Los Angeles auto show by reinterpreting the widely recognizable yellow paint in a modern way.
Inside, the truck features a Jet Black interior with serialized badging on the instrument panel, while every 2027 Hummer EV now includes a native NACS charging port for direct access to Tesla Superchargers.
GMC Hummer EV sales fell nearly 55% in the first half of 2026 as demand for pricey electric trucks cooled following the expiration of federal tax credits in late 2025.
Production of the 2027 Hummer EV and Icon 25 begins later this year at GM's Factory ZERO in Detroit and Hamtramck, Michigan, though GMC has not confirmed the total units for this limited run.
GMC Hummer EV Icon 25 is a special edition that recalls some of Hummer's most successful moments before his production, rescuing one of the brand's most iconic colors.
