The president of the European Council, Antonio Costa, will travel to Kiev on Monday, where he will take part, remotely, in the meeting of the Coalition of the Volunteers. On 24 August it is celebrated on over the 35th anniversary of the independence of Ukraine. (ANSA)
The meeting should address the issue of strengthening Ukrainian air defence, as the country is increasingly vulnerable to Russian strikes because of the lack of enough interceptor missiles.
This meeting will be co-chaired by French President Emmanuel Macron – who will be in video conference – German Chancellor Friedrich Merz and, for the first time, by the new British Prime Minister Andy Burnham, said the Presidential Palace.
