June 14-15 saw the IHSA spring sports season come to a close for girls across Illinois with the large school softball state finals. In Class 3A Chatham (Glenwood) beat New Lenox (Providence Catholic) 3-2 in eight innings for the state championship at the Louisville Slugger Complex in Peoria on June 14.
