After months of relaxation, inflation in Germany picks up again. Prices are rising, especially for food, services and fuel.
Inflation has risen more than expected in Germany. Prices were on average 2.1 percent higher in January than a year earlier. Services in particular were more expensive.
After some relaxation in December, life in Germany is again more expensive at the beginning of the year. This is due to food, fuel prices and Germany ticket, but also to gastronomy.
