Gerard "Doody" Dennis is jetting off to Ireland to compete in the International Oyster Opening Championships on September 23. He is just the third Australian to travel to Ireland and has the privilege of being the first of Indigenous descent. Mr Dennis was crowned national champion at the Narooma Oyster Festival in May when he shucked and cleaned 30 rock oysters in two minutes and 41 seconds in a final-two showdown.
