- The crash was reported just before 1 p.m. in the 25000 block of Pacific Coast Highway, and deputies and firefighters responded after witnesses called 911.
- Following the crash, Simmons was evaluated at a nearby hospital, briefly hospitalized for checks, and has since been released and is recovering at home, Tweed and NBC4 confirmed.
