Police Interview Gary Glitter Over Alleged 1970s-80s Offences; Investigation Ongoing
The Metropolitan Police said the victim is being supported by specialist officers as detectives investigate reported offending from the late 1970s and early 1980s.
Gary Glitter, 82, was interviewed by the Metropolitan Police under caution regarding alleged sex offenses against a girl under 14 committed "over a period of time" in Kensington, West London.
The singer, whose real name is Paul Gadd, is currently serving a 16-year sentence at HMP Channings Wood, Devon, for abusing three schoolgirls, with his prison term set to expire in 2031.
These historical allegations follow his 2015 conviction, which emerged during Operation Yewtree, the Metropolitan Police investigation launched following the Jimmy Savile scandal.
The investigation into the new claims remains ongoing, and the victim is currently receiving support from specialist officers as authorities continue to review the case.
Over the past year, the Met has expanded safeguarding teams and rolled out training on victim approach, resulting in charges more than doubling for child sexual exploitation.
