Quarterback Alessio Milivojevic completed 76% of his passes for 247 yards and connected with receiver Rodney Bullard for a 5-yard go-ahead touchdown, though the defense surrendered a 71-yard run and 60-yard touchdown pass to Toledo receiver Adjatay Dabbs.
Both programs return to action on Sept. 12, with Michigan State hosting Eastern Michigan at Spartan Stadium and Toledo hosting Central Connecticut State, each seeking momentum in Week 2.
