After arriving in Madrid this Thursday he will be taken to a court in the capital of Spain and then imprisoned to serve a sentence of 13 and a half years in prison.
The fugitive had fled Spain in July, before the judicial authority issued a national search warrant on 16 September for him to be imprisoned.
The well-known political activist was arrested in Havana last November and was at the time of his arrest one of the ten fugitives most wanted by the Spanish justice system.
Martiño Ramos Soto (from Ourense, 50), a Galician teacher of children and primary school who was convicted for raping a minor student, is extradited back to Spain. The man served his sentence in Cuba, where he had escaped to not serve his 13-and-a-half-year prison sentence imposed by the Provincial High Court of Ourense, until he was arrested by the authorities of that country.
