- His party, Ensemble pour le Gabon , reported that authorities arrested the 58-year-old over a five-million Central African franc debt stemming from his 2008 organization of the National Cultural Festival.
- The EPG denounced the detention as "arbitrary, brutal, and manifestly contrary to the fundamental principles of the rule of law," calling on Gabonese authorities to act responsibly.
