William Byron Has Enough Fuel to Win NASCAR Cup Race at Iowa Speedway

On Sunday, Aug. 3, William Byron stretched his final tank of fuel for 144 laps to win the Iowa Corn 350 at Iowa Speedway, holding off Chase Briscoe, Brad Keselowski and Ryan Blaney.
Facing past fuel failures, William Byron saved enough fuel at Indianapolis and Michigan earlier this season to win in Iowa on Sunday, Aug. 3.
Led a race-high 141 of 350 laps, with 11 cautions in the second half that reshuffled strategies, Byron's fuel gamble succeeded.
In the points race, William Byron’s win vaulted him past Chase Elliott to the lead, while Brad Keselowski must win again to qualify for the playoffs.
Up next, the series moves to Watkins Glen International on Sunday, Aug. 10, where Chris Buescher will defend his title.
