Fuel costs force Sunday mass out of historical Fort Smith cathedral

Sunday mass is relocating out of St. Joseph's Cathedral in Fort Smith, N.W.T., for the winter starting this upcoming weekend after a decision made by the parish council. Instead, Sunday service will be delivered at the parish's family centre at usual mass time, though it will still be possible to hold funerals and Christmas services in the cathedral.

The Roman Catholic Diocese of Mackenzie-Fort Smith announced that services will move beginning November 8, with Mass continuing at 11 a.m. every Sunday throughout the winter.
