Agriculture: the Prefect of Haute-Vienne Authorizes a Controversial Project for a Mega-Bovine Farm

The prefecture has decided to allow the transformation of a limousine farm into a giant fattening centre of more than 2,000 heads. Supported by environmental and agricultural associations, the residents intend to file appeals.

The prefecture of Haute-Vienne approved the creation of a cattle fattening farm in Peyrilhac, near Limoges, on Thursday 22 May. Presented in the spring of 2024, this draft takeover, carried by a subsidiary of the Carnivor group, arouses strong opposition. Opponents do not exclude filing an appeal.
