Friends of a man who was struck by a vehicle in Newark early Tuesday followed the hit-and-run driver for three miles before allegedly attacking him, authorities said.Police were called shortly after 12:10 a.m. to the 200 block of Park Avenue on a report of a man struck and the driver leaving the scene, according to Newark Public Safety Director Emanuel Miranda.
