Only far-right deputies voted against this text, which plans to cut the tax advantage granted to rental companies of tourist accommodation, such as Airbnb.

PARIS: The French parliament on Thursday (Nov 7) approved a Bill aimed at tightening the regulation of tourist accommodation such as Airbnb to combat the shortage of affordable housing. France is the second-largest market for Airbnb, with listings in more than 29,000 towns and cities in the country.
The transpartisan text, called for by local elected officials powerless in the face of the surge in tourist furnished rentals, was adopted on Thursday, November 7 by the National Assembly. In particular, it puts an end to the exorbitant tax advantage enjoyed by renters.
