Framework's Latest 13-Inch Laptop Includes Panther Lake Chip, Boosting Battery Life
The redesign adds Framework’s first touchscreen, a larger battery and Core Ultra Series 3 chips, with DIY pricing starting at $1,199.
On Tuesday, Framework announced the Laptop 13 Pro, featuring Intel's Panther Lake Core Ultra Series 3 processors and the company's first 13.5-inch touchscreen display.
Built on six years of customer feedback, Framework CEO Nirav Patel designed the Pro model as the 'MacBook Pro for Linux users,' blending premium build with repairability.
Starting at $1,199 for DIY editions and $1,499 for prebuilt models, the laptop includes a 74Wh battery that Framework claims can support 20 hours of 4K Netflix streaming.
Preorders open today with shipments beginning in June; the design maintains backward compatibility with existing Framework Laptop 13 components, allowing upgrades to older models.
By incorporating a fully machined 6000-series aluminum chassis and haptic touchpad, Framework positions the device to compete directly with Apple's recently released MacBook Pros.
