Fourth person charged over Jewish volunteer ambulance fires
Police say the attack caused about £1 million in damage and led to charges against four suspects, including one arrested on 16 April.
- Judex Atshatshi, 18, of Dagenham, east London, has been charged with arson following his arrest on April 16 after counter-terrorism detectives searched two addresses. He is due to appear at Westminster Magistrates' Court on Saturday.
- The arson attack occurred in the early hours of March 23 in Golders Green, where four Jewish Community Ambulance service vehicles operated by Hatzola were set on fire. Gas canisters stored in the vehicles exploded, causing £1 million worth of damage.
- Three other individuals face charges in connection with the fire: Hamza Iqbal, 20, of Leyton; Rehan Khan, 19, of Leyton; and a 17-year-old boy from Walthamstow. All three were remanded in custody earlier this month.
- Frank Ferguson, head of the Crown Prosecution Service's special crime and counter terrorism division, said: "We have worked closely with the Metropolitan Police." Officials warned against online commentary that could prejudice the active proceedings.
- The defendants are due to appear at the Old Bailey on April 24 for further proceedings. Meanwhile, another 18-year-old arrested on suspicion of conspiracy to commit arson remains released on bail until July.
