[Yomiuri Shimbun] The four volunteer companies, Yomiuri Shimbun, Saga Shimbun, Jiji Press, and Nippon Television Network Corporation, which are members of the Japan Newspaper Publishers & Editors Association, will jointly conduct fact-checks on information circulating on the Internet regarding elections. In addition to national elections, local elections will also be subject to the checks depending on the situation.
