Five Boys Injured After Jumping Castle Flies Into Air in West Sydney
Four boys aged 9 to 13 were hospitalized with non-life-threatening injuries after a wind-lifted jumping castle struck a fence, SafeWork NSW said.
- On Saturday, four children were taken to hospital after a backyard inflatable detached and blew over a neighbouring fence at Kelvin Park Dr, Bradfield, south-western Sydney.
- Investigators say the inflatable became detached and was blown away, flying into a neighbouring fence, and a NSW Ambulance spokesperson said up to six people had been onboard.
- NSW Ambulance treated five male patients, aged 9 to 13, on arrival, with paramedics reporting they were conscious and breathing; one child did not require hospitalisation.
- SafeWork NSW attended the scene and is investigating, while emergency services said four injured children had non-life-threatening injuries and were in stable condition.
- The event echoes a 2021 Devonport tragedy in which six children were killed and follows a court dismissal in June where the operator was found not guilty.
