Former Whittier Detective Can No Longer Be an Officer in California After Shooting that Left Unarmed Man Paralyzed

Salvador Murillo pleaded to assault charges and was sentenced to probation, community service, and restitution after shooting an unarmed man who was fleeing, severing his spine.

Salvador Murillo was also sentenced to a year of probation and must complete 200 hours of community service, court records show.
