Former UVic star Elias Ralph gets NBA opportunity with Sacramento Kings
The 22-year-old forward earned a shot in Las Vegas after averaging 15.4 points per game at Pacific and 13.3 at Victoria.
Elias Ralph was named to the Sacramento Kings 15-player Summer League roster as an undrafted free agent, with the team opening play in Las Vegas against the Los Angeles Clippers, Washington Wizards, Brooklyn Nets, and Boston Celtics.
Ralph's collegiate career included three seasons with the University of Victoria Vikes, where he helped secure three consecutive Canada West titles before transferring to the University of Pacific for his final two years.
Averaging 15.4 points and seven rebounds in Stockton, Ralph earned recognition from Tigers head coach Dave Smart, who said his dedication is reflected in the Kings giving him a shot against "NBA-calibre players."
Before arriving in Las Vegas, Ralph attended pre-draft workouts with Sacramento and the Golden State Warriors, then participated in the California Classic Summer League with the Kings.
Ralph did not play during the California Classic, listed as a "coach's decision" for all three contests, but now faces the main Summer League as his opportunity to prove himself.
