Former supply teacher jailed for six years after taking more than 100 upskirt photos of children
Rahman admitted 21 child sex offences after using pupils’ photos to create deepfake sexual images and covertly filming girls in schools.
- On Thursday, Bolton Crown Court sentenced former supply teacher Abusali Rahman to six years in prison after he admitted 21 child sex offences involving upskirting and creating sexualized AI deepfakes of pupils.
- Between December 2023 and June 2025, Rahman abused his position as a supply teacher across 25 schools in the North West of England, secretly photographing students and generating explicit AI content for online sale.
- Greater Manchester Police identified 15 victims aged 13 to 16 after tracing social media accounts to Rahman's devices, which contained hundreds of indecent images and evidence he planned to charge £20 per image via Telegram.
- Judge Kenderick Horne imposed a 20-year Sexual Harm Prevention Order and lifetime notification requirement, placing Rahman on the Sex Offenders Register and barring him from working in schools indefinitely.
- The NSPCC and police urged tech firms to strengthen regulation, warning that "criminals are using" AI technology in ways that current legislation struggles to address, citing the escalation over recent months.
