Former Sunderland captain Dan Neil reacts after three-year deal at new club confirmed
On Wednesday, midfielder Dan Neil joined Rangers on a three-year deal as a free agent after departing boyhood club Sunderland.
Previously, the 24-year-old spent the second half of last season on loan at Ipswich Town after concluding an 18-year association with Sunderland.
A versatile midfielder, Neil captained the Black Cats to Premier League promotion via the 2024/25 play-offs and brings more than 200 senior appearances.
Rangers manager Derek McInnes secured the midfielder as his fifth summer signing, joining fellow former Ipswich loanee Ben Godfrey at Ibrox.
Donning the 6 jersey, Neil said the move is "a new chapter" and he intends to "give 110 per cent" throughout his tenure.
