Belleville moves toward affordable housing project at Queen Mary site

Developers interested in building new affordable housing at the former Queen Mary School site in West Hill will be invited to submit proposals to City of Belleville for selection by council as a winning bidder.

Belleville City Council is directing staff to release a portion of the former Queen Mary School property for an affordable rental housing development. The package looks to maintain about an acre and a half for parkland, while moving more than three acres for housing. Priority will be given to projects that utilize the former building.
