Former janitor sentenced for contaminating school cafeteria food with bodily fluids
- Giovanni Impellizzeri, a 25-year-old former janitor from Vineland, was sentenced to eight years in prison for contaminating cafeteria food and possession of child pornography at Elizabeth Moore School in Upper Deerfield Township.
- Impellizzeri's actions came to light after videos emerged showing him contaminating food intended for students and staff with cleaning products and bodily fluids, which he then shared with an online chat group after beginning work at the school in September 2019.
- Detectives discovered Impellizzeri also possessed child pornography and used school utensils inappropriately.
- In November 2023, Impellizzeri was arrested and admitted to tampering with the food, stating, "he was doing the devil's work."
- Impellizzeri pleaded guilty in January to second-degree official misconduct and third-degree possession of child sexual abuse material, and will be eligible for parole after five years, followed by a lifetime of parole, with his five-year sentence for official misconduct and three-year sentence for possession of child sexual abuse material to be served consecutively.
