Jeb Bush raises alarm over Iranian drones in Cuba
Officials say roughly 300 Iranian drones in Cuba could overwhelm air defenses and put U.S. cities within range.
- Former Florida Gov Jeb Bush and Rep Carlos Gimenez displayed an Iranian-made drone at the Biltmore Hotel, warning that roughly 300 such weapons delivered to Cuba pose a significant threat to South Florida.
- Gimenez said Iran manufactures these drones "by the thousands," with a range of about 2,500 kilometers; from Cuba, they can reach all the way to New York and South Florida.
- These kamikaze drones carry over 100 pounds of explosives and travel more than 1,000 miles at speeds of about 115 miles per hour, while Gimenez noted that a successful strike may require only one aircraft.
- Wallace said Iran's engagement in Cuba is tied to proximity to the United States, adding that the nation "must ensure that Iran do not have the reach to come into the Straits of Florida like they are impacting the Strait of Hormuz."
- Andy Gomez said Cuba's status as a failed state creates national security concerns, though he believes a drone attack is unlikely; Gomez will watch developments this Saturday, the fifth anniversary of historic anti-government protests.

Trump says US is investigating whether Iran stores drones in Cuba
US President Donald Trump said on Monday that his government is investigating whether Iran is storing drones in Cuba and warned that Washington would act if their presence on the island is confirmed, though he framed the matter as a hypothesis that has not been verified.
U.S. President Donald Trump has reported on the investigation of a "possible" presence of Iranian drones on the island of Cuba, after which he added that Washington will not allow "that to happen."
"If they have them, and they may have them, we will take care of them," Trump said in reference to a question about the possible presence of Iranian weaponry on the Caribbean island.
He said that Washington will not allow any military deployment of the Persian nation on the island, while its administration tightens the pressure on Havana and keeps Cuba's cooperation with countries such as Russia and China under surveillance.
