DOWNERS GROVE, ILLINOIS, JUN 17 – Christina Formella faces 52 new charges including grooming and criminal sexual assault after allegedly abusing a 15-year-old student about 50 times over nearly two years, prosecutors said.
- A former teacher, Christina Formella, is facing 52 additional charges related to sexual abuse of a student, according to the DuPage County State's Attorney's Office.
- The alleged abuse spanned from January 2023 to August or September 2024, involving sexual acts at least 50 times, including 45 times at school.
- Formella is charged with 20 counts of Criminal Sexual Assault, 20 counts of Aggravated Criminal Sexual Abuse, six counts of Indecent Solicitation of a Child, and six counts of Grooming.
- The DuPage County State's Attorney's Office stated that the new allegations are 'beyond disturbing.
