- Customs and Border Protection officers apprehended Eberle near the Texas border Tuesday night as he fled north. Authorities rescued the unharmed child and transported him to Saltillo; the suspect was booked into the city's men's prison at 9:59 p.m. Wednesday.
- Prosecutors obtained an arrest warrant under Causa Penal 547, charging Eberle with femicide and aggravated homicide. The Coahuila Attorney General's Office confirmed it is in communication with the United States Consular Office regarding the case.
