Ford Reports Best Annual Sales Since 2019

Ford’s best U.S. sales since 2019 rose 6% to 2.2 million vehicles in 2025, led by a 22% surge in hybrids and strong affordable truck demand.

  • On Jan. 6, the automaker announced U.S. sales rose six percent to 828,832 vehicles, its best annual U.S. performance since 2019.
  • Ford on Tuesday said strong demand for hybrids and affordable pickups helped offset slowing electric-vehicle sales, following other automakers reporting gains amid tariffs and removal of the $7,500 U.S. electric-vehicle tax credit.
  • F‑Series truck sales showed 828,832 units, up 8.3%, and hybrid models surged, marking Ford’s best hybrid year ever, according to the company.
  • Ford said its fourth quarter sales rose 2.7 and buyers leaned on lower-priced base models, with Andrew Frick noting it "really had a big impact on how we addressed affordability in the market."
  • In December, Ford said it would take a $19.5 billion writedown and replace the fully electric F‑150 Lightning with a gas-engine model, scrapping the T3 next-generation electric truck and planned electric vans.
