The move of the "Lunch Magazine" to the MDR was intended to bring East German realities into the nationwide ARD program. Now, after two and a half years, it is already being saved away.
After only three years the Mitteldeutsche Rundfunk wants to get rid of the "Mittagsmagazin" of the ARD again. The station can no longer afford the production. The Norddeutsche Rundfunk is now to jump in.
For three years the MDR produced the "Lunch Magazine". Now the format is to be handed over to another ARD-Anstalt - for financial reasons.
It is the hot potato in the ARD program: The »Mittagsmagazin« is probably produced again in 2027 by another institution. The MDR is too expensive the joint task, the NDR could enter.
