In Austria, inflation has been significantly above the European average for months, and prices in this country are also rising significantly faster compared to Germany. This is also reflected in food prices. According to the Chamber of Labour (AK), branded goods are on average 18 percent more expensive in Austria than in Germany; excluding the different value-added tax, it is 15 percent.
