Flyers Visit the Sabres After Michkov’s 2-Goal Game

The Philadelphia Flyers defeated the visiting Colorado Avalanche 3-2 on Monday at Xfinity Mobile Arena, powered by two goals from Matvei Michkov and three assists from Trevor Zegras.
Entering Monday's contest with one win in 10 games, the Flyers played without injured regulars Owen Tippett, Travis Konecny, Cam York, and Rasmus Ristolainen, facing heavy odds against Colorado.
Goaltender Joseph Woll stopped 24 of 26 shots while Noel Acciari scored in the third period, with Michkov's resurgence alongside Zegras on the top unit driving the offensive attack.
Avalanche coach Jared Bednar called his team's performance "sluggish and sloppy," citing poor execution, while the victory marks consecutive wins for the Flyers after their difficult opening stretch.
The Flyers travel to Buffalo on Wednesday to face the Sabres, seeking to maintain momentum as they integrate younger players and American Hockey League call-ups into their lineup.
