In an international operation on May 19 and 20, the criminal VPN service FirstVPN was taken offline. During the operation, a total of 33 servers linked to the service were dismantled. The suspected administrator was questioned in Ukraine at the request of France.
Europol shut down First VPN as part of Operation Saffron. According to the agency's report, the service seized 33 servers in 27 countries and domains linked to ransomware attacks and other cybercrime. The investigation began in 2021.
