In Ghent, a man (47) drowned in the Houtdok. Witnesses saw him voluntarily step into the water to cool down, after which he got into trouble. The fire brigade arrived on the scene, but they could only retrieve the man's lifeless body from the water. "Do not go swimming in places where it is prohibited," the East Flanders public prosecutor's office said.
