First test run of the New Lock Terneuzen: '40,000 more ships through the Western Scheldt'

The New Lock in Terneuzen may have been opened last October, but on Thursday the first test run through the new lock with an inland vessel will take place. The project, which costs over €1 billion, is necessary for the increasingly larger ships and is an important part of the water route between the ports of Rotterdam and Paris.
