John Storgårds, 61, the chief conductor of the Turku Philharmonic Orchestra, has been appointed artistic director of the National Arts Centre Orchestra (NACO) in Ottawa, the Canadian capital, the orchestra announced. He will succeed English conductor Alexander Shelley in the position.
