Finland sees surge in corporate bankruptcies at start of 2025

The number of bankruptcy filings in Finland has risen sharply in early 2025. In the third week of the year, 128 companies filed for bankruptcy, the highest weekly figure of the decade. The 100-case threshold has been exceeded only once before in the 2020s, in May 2024. In the first seven weeks of 2025, a total of 434 companies have been declared bankrupt, compared to 446 during the same period last year.
