The final design for Philadelphia's Sadie T.M. Alexander statue was unveiled Wednesday in a ceremony at City Hall. The statue by artist Vinnie Bagwell shows Alexander in her graduation gown. Alexander was the first African American to receive a PhD in economics and the first Black woman to graduate from Penn's law school.
