File sent to CPS after sex offence allegations against suspended Labour MP Dan Norris
Avon and Somerset Police said the case involves rape, sexual assault, voyeurism and upskirting allegations against 66-year-old Norris, with three women alleging rape.
Somerset Police have submitted a file of evidence to the Crown Prosecution Service regarding Independent Dan Norris, MP for North East Somerset and Hanham, who faces multiple allegations of sexual offences including rape, sexual assault, voyeurism, and upskirting.
Led by Operation Bluestone, the investigation began in December 2024 and examines allegations spanning the 2000s to 2020s involving three counts of alleged rape, one of sexual assault, and voyeurism against multiple women.
The Labour Party suspended Norris and removed his whip in the House of Commons following the allegations; he previously served as mayor of the West of England from 2021 to 2025 and held junior roles under Gordon Brown and Tony Blair.
Norris, who remains on conditional bail, issued a statement in February vigorously denying the allegations and is challenging them through legal representatives while stepping down as chairman of the League Against Cruel Sports.
Elected to Parliament in 2024 after defeating Conservative former cabinet minister Sir Jacob Rees-Mogg, Norris previously represented the Wansdyke seat from 1997 to 2010, covering much of his current North East Somerset and Hanham constituency.
