Fierce water fight face-offs take over City Park in Detroit Lakes

DETROIT LAKES — By the end of the Water Carnival’s annual water fight on Wednesday evening, the streets of City Park were soaked. Spectators had spent the evening watching more than a dozen teams of about six people each work together to maneuver a giant fire hose and spray a Lakers ball gliding along a zip line. The 89th Annual Northwest Water Carnival continues in Detroit Lakes this weekend, before wrapping up on sunday.
