Ferry Issues 'Code Red' Alert After Rough Weather

Mechanical issues with two thrusters and high winds have caused cancellations of nearly all ferry crossings between Caribou, Nova Scotia, and Wood Islands, P.E.I., this October, officials said.

Tuesday morning and until the afternoon, several departures between Ærøskøbing and Svendborg have been canceled. Ærøfærgerne informs on its website, which also states that cancellations are due to a "main inspection". From Ærøskøbing, the departures from 9:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. are canceled and from Svendborg, the departures from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. are canceled.
